Sclerotherapy is the treatment of small thread and spider veins to reduce their appearance, leaving you with smoother, more even skin.
At Pure Perfection Clinic in Rossett, we offer this treatment to patients suffering from the appearance of veins that are visible through the skin. We insist on a venous consultation and doplar test for all our microsclerotherapy clients, where we will assess the severity of your condition and discuss treating minor thread veins.. If we find that your condition is too severe and that you would be more satisfied with the results if the veins were removed, we can refer you to an excellent surgeon for this procedure if you wish.
The small price of the first session is £250 and any treatment session after that are at a reduced fee.
Top FAQs about Sclerotherapy
What are spider veins?
Spider, or thread veins, are similar to varicose veins, only smaller. They are closer to the surface of the skin than varicose veins, and tend to be blue, red or purple in colour. Their jagged lines often take the form of spider’s webs or tree branches, and can be a cause of low self-esteem for many.
What causes spider veins?
Hormonal changes, local injury, or sun damage can cause thread veins to appear. However, some spider veins appear just below the surface of the skin due to underlying varicose veins that aren’t visible. A consultation at our clinic allows us to investigate your individual case, and offer the best treatment possible.
What is microsclerotherapy?
The treatment involves injecting a medication using a very fine needle into the thread veins, to reduce their appearance. The sclerosant substance used, fibrovein, causes the veins to shrink and disappear after 6 to 8 treatments. This chemical has been used since 1946 for this treatment, and it’s very safe.
Does it hurt?
Micro Sclerotherapy is normally reported to be painless or slightly uncomfortable depending on the area treated. For example areas such as the upper thigh, foot or ankle have been reported from our clients to be more sensitive but to only a slight degree. The small needles have a tiny diameter.
How long does it take?
Treatments usually take around one hour, depending on the scale of the area to treat. However, due to the nature of the procedure, you should be able to see results after 6 to 8 weeks. Depending on the individual depends on how many sessions you may need.
What is the recovery time?
There is very little recover time needed after Sclerotherapy. However, it is compulsory to wear compression stockings after the treatment. We request that you buy and bring your own compression stockings to your appointment, so they can be fitted immediately after the treatment and worn for 72 hours. We also offer a range of camouflage make-up at Pure Perfection Clinic, that can mask any bruising that may occur after the treatment. The price of the first session is £250 and any treatment session after that is reduced to £200.
