Treatment summary
The skin is the largest organ of the body. It protects us from the outside world, warns us of potential pain and helps to regulate our body temperature. It’s no wonder therefore, that the skin can display irregularities such as pigmentation, freckles and sun damage, vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasias and skin conditions such as rosacea.
At Pure Perfection Clinic in Rossett, near Chester, Cheshire and Wrexham on the North Wales border, we offer a range of skin solutions which can reduce the signs of ageing and wear and tear of the skin. One of the best treatments that we have sourced for a range of skin concerns, is Lumecca.

Which conditions can be treated with Lumecca?
- Age spots (red/brown pigmentation marks)
- Sun spots and sun damage (freckles and larger pigmentation lesions)
- Facial telangiectasias (spider veins)
- Rosacea
- Redness of the skin
- Ageing skin
What is Lumecca?
Lumecca is the most powerful Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) systems to treat pigmented skin and vascular lesions. Developed by InMode, one of the world’s leading providers of medical and aesthetic devices, Lumecca operates using photothermolysis – a photo-facial light delivery system. The intense pulsed light, emitted from the device hand piece breaks down pigmentation, removes redness and eliminates spider veins in as little as one session. A benefit to Lumecca is that it will simultaneously tighten the skin, so is a very effective anti-ageing treatment too.

Are there any contraindications to Lumecca IPL?
If you are taking Accutane, it is not advisable to have any form of IPL. You may need to cease taking the medication up to 6 months prior to treatment. If you have particularly dark or tanned skin with a high melanin content, we may advise alternative treatments to Lumecca.
Which areas can Lumecca treat?
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. However, it is mostly administered on areas which are exposed to the sun most frequently such as –
- Face
- Hands
- Décolleté
- Legs
- Hands
- Arms

When will I see the results from Lumecca IPL?
Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days following your first treatment. The skin will continue to appear younger and its tone will even-out over time with optimum results being reached at 1 to 2 weeks. Vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasias will improve after around 2 weeks.
As with any cosmetic skin treatment, how you take care of your skin after the treatment will determine the longevity of your results. For example, if you stay out of strong sunlight and wear a high factor SPF, results for skin pigmentation can last years. However, if you expose your skin to the sun without protection, sun spots and skin damage will inevitably re-occur. The removal of spider veins is permanent and our team will advise you on how you can take care of your skin, to minimise the risk of further spider veins appearing.
As conditions such as rosacea are re-occurring, you may require annual top up treatments with Lumecca, as well as recognising what triggers your rosacea and avoiding these triggers, to ensure long-term success over the condition. However, Lumecca can offer a superior skin complexion, reduce skin irregularities and can make you look years younger, due to its skin tightening and rejuvenation effects and results can last years, with minimal top up sessions.
Depending on your individual skin concern, a course of between 1 and 3 sessions is usually recommended. However, upon your pre-treatment consultation, your practitioner will advise you of the estimated number of sessions required to treat your particular skin condition.
Lumecca is a non-surgical treatment for fast and effective skin rejuvenation and revitalisation. It can treat a myriad of concerns and there are few contraindications to this treatment.
During the treatment, your practitioner will place a hand piece on to the areas of skin that require treatment. A bright flash of light will be emitted from the Lumecca device, which will feel rather like an elastic band being flicked on to the skin. There is a sensation but this is comfortable and totally tolerable. The treatment takes between 30 and 60 minutes to administer and this, of course depends on the number of areas to be treated and their size.
You will feel a slight sting and warming of the skin during and after the Lumecca treatment. However, this is very bearable and should not be painful.
Lumecca is a non-invasive treatment which requires no surgery or anaesthesia. This means that most patients experiencing skin lesions and pigmentation can benefit from the treatment. However, you will be invited to attend a pre-treatment consultation with your practitioner prior to any procedure, here at Pure Perfection Clinic, so that we can assess your individual concerns, check your medical history and ensure that you are fit, well and suitable for this treatment.
