Skin Needling
Restore and revitalise ageing skin without surgery
The skin can weaken with age. It can thin, look crêpey and become fragile. Pigmentation becomes more apparent and the remanence of previous conditions or trauma to the skin such as acne scarring or trauma scars can worsen, due to a compromised skin quality.
At Pure Perfection Clinic in Rossett, near Chester, Cheshire and Wrexham on the North Wales border, we offer skin needling (or medical microneedling) for a variety of age-related skin concerns, as well as ongoing skin conditions to regenerate, revitalise and rejuvenate your complexion.

Which skin conditions can be treated with skin needling?
- The first and more advanced signs of skin ageing
- Lines and wrinkles
- Pigmentation, sun-damage, age spots
- Scarring (trauma, burn or acne scars)
- Sagging, crêpey or thin skin
- Dull and dehydrated skin
- Stretch marks
What is skin needling?
Skin needling is an in-clinic treatment, using a hand-held device which uses small needles to create tiny pin-pricks in the skin. These small contact points create a trauma and this in-turn encourages the body to produce a wound-healing response, stimulating the production of new collagen, deep within the dermis; a substance that can be lost as we age. As this collagen-boost happens, the skin can be seen almost immediately to become more plump, hydrated and renewed.

Are there any contraindications to skin needling?
This procedure is not advisable for those on certain acne medications or for women who are pregnant. Your full medical history will be discussed at your pre-treatment consultation.
Which areas can skin needling treat?
Skin needling is a treatment which can be used all over the body. However, the face, neck and décolletage as well as areas of the body which display stretch marks are the most popular areas to treat amongst our patients.

Rejuvenation of the skin may be seen in as little as 2 weeks and as long as 6 to 8 months after this procedure. Burn scars can take longer to respond and it could take up to between 6 months and 1 year to see the final results from a single treatment.
This all depends on your natural response to the treatment, as well as how you look after your skin, whether you maintain a healthy skincare regime at home as well as factors such as avoiding excessive sun-exposure, smoking and eating a well-balanced diet. However, when scars and stretch marks are treated, the results are generally permanent and long-lasting.
Micro-needling is best in a course of treatment and can be safely repeated every 4 to 6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For collagen induction we recommend to begin with 3 treatments but with a minimum separation time of between 4 and 6 weeks between each treatment. Your suggested course will be discussed in your pre-treatment consultation and will be tailored to your individual skin concerns and expectations for results.
Skin needling is a non-surgical and clinically-proven procedure which can improve skin quality, tone and condition and help to increase collagen and elastin production, without invasive surgical techniques.
This is a minimally-invasive treatment which involves rolling an electronic skin-needling device across the areas to be treated. The fine needles prick your skin up to 2mm deep, leaving tiny wounds behind. Prior to the treatment, your skin will be fully-cleansed and sterilised. Afterwards, your practitioner may decide to apply a specific serum, so that your skin can benefit all the more, as the pin-pricks made by the skin needling treatment create micro-channels, where ingredients such as vitamins, peptides and hyaluronic acid can be more readily absorbed by the skin, therefore, producing more effective results.
You will feel a slight pulling sensation, however, this is minimally uncomfortable and is quite tolerable.
Anyone who is seeing their skin deteriorate as a result of the natural ageing process, or who have an ongoing skin condition may benefit from skin needling. However, it is important for you to attend a no obligation skin consultation with us here at Pure Perfection Clinics, prior to any treatment being carried out; so we can assess your individual concerns, explain the potential outcome and check your medical history.
