What is Lumecca?
A powerful intense pulsed light treatment (“IPL”) that can treat pigmentation and vascular lesions effectively, safety and quickly. It can be used on all areas of the body, the most commonly treated being those regularly exposed to the sun. Lumecca has been developed by InMode, one of the world’s leading providers of medical and aesthetic devices so you can feel assured you are undergoing a safe and tested procedure.
What’s the difference between Lumecca and IPL?
Lumecca is a type of IPL treatment, the difference here is it is the most powerful Intense Pulsed Light treatment available, delivering up to 3x more energy than your standard IPL’s. A more powerful treatment makes for more powerful results!
The intense pulsed light, emitted from the device hand piece breaks down pigmentation, removes redness and eliminates spider veins in as little as one session. Lumecca will also simultaneously tighten the skin, so is a very effective anti-ageing treatment too.
What areas can you treat with Lumecca?
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun due to the pigmentation that takes place here, like; the face, neck, décolletage, legs, hands and arms.
We can also treat areas of the body that are suffering with Rosacea, Spider Veins and general Ageing Concerns.
How many sessions will I need to see results?
With Lumecca, results can be achieved in as little as one treatment, so you can begin to get excited about your skin potential. It’s recommended that most patients undergo a course of between 3-6 treatments for optimum, long-lasting results.
Is it a painful treatment?
Nobody likes pain, long-gone are the days of needing to put yourself through the paces to gain results. No pain, all gain is here! Lumecca is not a painful treatment, it uses an integrated cooling system in the handpiece meaning all you will feel is a slight warm and elastic sensation.
What’s the downtime like for Lumecca?
Immediately after your treatment, redness and a slight warming of the skin are completely normal reactions. This usually subsides within an hour. For a pigmentation treatment, you may see a slight darkening of the pigmentation spots within 48 hours. Whilst this may seem counterproductive, it’s totally normal and leads to the pigmented lesions eventually flaking off, leaving behind a more even skin tone.
After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch disappear or an alter in the vessel colour which again dissipates after a few days.
And is there any treatment prep I’d need to do?
Just as the downtime is minimal, the pre-treatment prep is too! All we ask is that you avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning for four weeks prior to treatment.
